Recipe scaler
Paste your ingredient list, set the servings, and get every quantity scaled with kitchen-friendly fractions.
How to use it
- Paste the ingredients, one per line, exactly as they appear in the recipe.
- Enter the servings the recipe makes and the servings you want, or tap ½×, 2× or 3×.
- Copy the scaled list. Quantities like "1 ½ cups" and "¾ tsp" are recognised and rewritten as neat fractions.
Tips for scaling recipes
- Eggs: round to whole eggs, or beat an egg and use part of it (one large egg is about 50 grams without the shell).
- Baking time: a bigger cake in a bigger tin needs longer, at the same temperature. Check early and often.
- Salt, spices and leavening: when tripling or more, start with a little less and adjust to taste.
- Pans: use our cake pan converter to find the right tin size.
